Get Kids Crafty in November - BLOG HOP

Hello Friends,

I am Jeanette. I am new to the blogging world, but not new to stamping. I am the Lead Enabler (aka Design Team Coordinator/VP) of Strawberry Jude Stamps.  I have become enthralled with adhesive, die cutting, embellishments, inks, papers, pencils, pens, planners, stamps, stencils... ect. It started as a hobby and escalated to an obsession.

With that obsession comes my children's interests in mommy's stamping stuff. I have 4 kids: Travis, Caleb, Emalee, and Leah. They do keep me busy! I love my kids and I love getting them involved in craft time. I was approached by one of my Design Team Members, for Strawberry Jude Stamps: Marcia, about #getkidscrafty and I hopped right on board.  November is Leaf month!

Emalee and I had this project in mind for the leaves:

Step 1: Emalee gathered leaves. This was super fun! She had hundreds to choose from, but for some reason only these particular ones were chosen.

Step 2: We chose a few Distress Oxide colors to watercolor the leaves with. We used: Seedless Preserves, Cracked Pistachio, and Worn Lipstick. I added some glycerin to make the oxides thicker and easier for Emalee to work with. The leaves held color really well, although they never did dry.

Step 3: Press them into card stock using a die cutting machine. We had the newest addition to the craft room. The Big Shot!

Step 4: THE FUN PART, card assembly, Glossy Accents Shimmer Spritz and Washi! We used our SUPER loves Misti and stamped all of the Strawberry Jude Stamps sentiments we had picked out.

Her final cards were fabulous! She dictated all the placements and color choices. She even spritzed them herself! It was fun to see her sense of accomplishment. I can't wait to share her next project with you.
